Six runs in the fourth inning led Edgewood past Cascade 7-1 on Monday. Edgewood offense in the inning was led by Luke Hayden, Sam Kido, Joe Kido, Harrison Pittsford, and Coleman Sater, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Edgewood evened things up at one in the bottom of the third inning.
Edgewood pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Hayden singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Kido singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Kido tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Pittsford singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Sater singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Cooper Thacker was credited with the victory for Edgewood. He surrendered one run on one hit over seven innings, striking out 15.
Cameron Ginter took the loss for Cascade. He allowed eight hits and seven runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out ten and walking zero.
Edgewood totaled ten hits. Sater, Kido, and Kido each racked up multiple hits for Edgewood. Kido, Kido, and Sater each managed two hits to lead Edgewood.
Ginter led Cascade with one hit in three at bats. Cascade was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Zac Roshong had the most chances in the field with 15.
