With all the snow this week, Edgewood was only able to practice once. That perhaps led to a little early-game rustiness, as the Mustangs got off to a bit of a slow start and trailed 15 – 9 after one quarter. Fortunately, they were able to shake it off , find their footing and regain the lead by the half, then gradually pull away in a 59 – 48 victory at Cascade. Edgewood hit 12 of 14 free throws in the 4th quarter to seal the win.
Coleman Sater recorded a rare ‘triple-double’, scoring 15 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and passing out 10 assists to lead the Mustang attack, while Caden Huttenlocker added 14 points –12 of which were in the 4th quarter to help close out the win. In addition, Landon Ringler and Zeke Powell both scored 9 points, Zach Sims had 8, and Henry Doering had 4 to complete Edgewood’s scoring.
The Mustangs will be back on the road on Tuesday evening when they travel to Northview to take on the Knights.
