In a game in which Edgewood’s two leading scorers were held to just one field goal, senior Alle Spear put in the best game of her career. After a slow start, Spear finished with 27 points on 10 for 16 shooting and 6 of 9 from the line. Kaiden Harrington also had a tremendous game, scoring 14 points and grabbing 14 rebounds (7 on the offensive end). Harrington also had a game high 5 assists as Edgewood worked the high-low game. It was the third straight road conference game where the Lady Mustangs were able to get to the free throw line at least 26 times. Only in this game, Edgewood made 63%, compared to the 37% in their two conference losses. After holding Owen Valley without a field goal for a 7 minute stretch ending the second and beginning the third quarter, Edgewood needed every free throw and possession (only 10 turnovers in the game) to hold off the OV fourth quarter surge. Edgewood travels to Eastern Greene on Tuesday then will host North Putnam in the conference cross over game Friday for 5th place.
