A lackluster start and finish spelled doom for Edgewood in a 81 – 57 loss at Franklin. The Mustangs spotted their hosts to a 12 – 0 lead, but then played them even over the next 2 1/2 quarters, trailing 56 – 44 after 3 periods. However, they couldn’t consistently get defensive stops at any point in the game in a disappointing effort at that end of the court.
Cam Banister and Coleman Sater were the sole bright spots for Edgewood offensively, scoring 20 and 15 points respectively, while no other Mustangs scored more than 5. Derek Farkas had 5 points, Joe Kido and Trevor Taylor scored 4 points each, Kyle Rogers had 3 points, Austin Schwartz had 2, and Tate Balcam had 1 point to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
The Mustangs will try to end the regular season and head into Sectional play on a winning note when they host Eastern Greene on Thursday –a night on which they will also honor the 6 seniors who will be playing their last home game.
