The highlight of the night was before the game when Edgewood recognized the five seniors on this year’s team: Coleman Sater, Landon Ringler, Zeke Powell, Sean Sims, and Andrew Blessinger. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there in a disappointing 58 – 36 loss to Bloomfield.
The Mustangs could never get untracked against the Cardinals physical, aggressive style of play, connecting on only 1 of 9 shots in the first quarter. While their shooting picked up slightly after that, it wasn’t enough to keep the game competitive.
Sater was double or triple-teamed throughout the game, but still managed to lead Edgewood with 13 points and 5 rebounds . No other Mustang was able to reach double figures, with Ringler scoring 6, Powell scoring 5, and Henry Doering adding 4 points and 4 rebounds. Finally, Brayden Robinson had 3 points, Aiden Georges and Xander Hammonds had 2 points apiece, and Sims had 1 to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
The Mustangs open Western Indiana Conference play next Thursday, when they host Indian Creek.
