The Edgewood Varsity jumped out in front early and never looked back in a convincing 74 – 36 season-opening win at Traders Point Christian Academy. The Mustangs scored the first 7 points, took a 41 – 15 lead into the locker room at the half, then continued to add to their lead the rest of the way.
Coleman Sater led Edgewood with a stat-sheet stuffing 21 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to post game highs in each of those categories. Sean Sims added 12 points, and a trio of Mustangs — Zeke Powell, Landon Ringler, and Brayden Robinson — each scored 9. Finally, Aiden Georges had 8 points, while Henry Doering and Xander Hammonds both had 3 to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
In addition to Sater’s 14 rebounds, Georges grabbed 6 and Ringler pulled down 5 for the Mustangs.
Edgewood is back in action on Saturday evening, when they host Bloomfield in a Senior Night matchup.
