Edgewood won the opening game of “The Really Big Basketball Show” at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse, posting a 57 – 52 come-from-behind victory over Monrovia. The Mustangs amped up the defensive pressure in the 2nd half, and wore down the bigger, stronger Bulldogs down the stretch to pull out the win.
Trevor Taylor led Edgewood in scoring with 25 points, and was named the game’s MVP. No other Mustang reached double figures, but 7 did find the scoring column: Joe Kido and Kyle Rogers had 6 points each; Coleman Sater and Cam Banister both scored 5; Tate Balcam and Houston Holmes had 4 apiece; and Austin Schwartz scored 2.
With the win, Edgewood improved to 14 – 2 on the season, and will next play on Thursday night at Bloomington North.
